Re: Valuations related to our plots Holding No 455 /1, 444/2 and 410(60)

Please be informed that we have not been given any notice pertaining to a sharp and unjustified increase in the valuations related to the above mentioned Holding numbers. 

When we went to make the current year tax payment – we were informed

1.     that as much as double the valuation for Holding No. 455(60) from Rs. 181 to Rs. 361 per Quarter

2.     and as much as four times the valuation for Holding No. 444/1 from Rs. 100 to Rs. 410/- per Quarter have been applied.

We submit to you to kindly consider the above levy as excessive and irrational. 

In this process – since no notice has been received by us about the increase in valuation – you are requested to kindly allow us a Hearing for proper justified valuations.

We hope you will consider our above request in the name of fairness and justice and grant us an early hearing in the matter.

I visited the North Dum Dum Municipality today to examine why they have increased our tax 4 fold, 2 fold and 10% as different in 3 holding numbers.

They have indicated that a certain assessment survey was done in Oct-Dec 2023 and rates have been changed.

The revised rates could be put to appeal till May 31, 2024.

They have indicated that the Holding No. 410/1 is 41 Kattahs as per their record and the present rate being Rs. 10 per Kattah per qtr – the Rs. 410/- per quarter holds.

The holding 440 (2) is 11 Kattahs … and @ Rs. 10 per quarter per kattah they are charging Rs. 110 per quarter. 

The holding 410(60) is recorded as a 11 Kattah plot with 2000 sq ft structure on it.   To get the rate charged for the structure – we would have to find out from Ground Floor Sachiv Bhawan Salt Lake as they are the rate fixation authority.
